What to expect on your first and second visit

The first visit usually takes between 30 and 45 minutes.  After filling the required forms you will then be seen by Dr. Gauthier.  A complete history is taken of your specific condition which is then followed by a complete examination.  For spinal conditions the examination may include range of motion testing, neurological and orthopedic tests.  Should your condition be related to your locomotor system (foot-knee-spine) a gait analysis and biomechanical assessment may be done as well.  If radiographs (x-rays) are necessary, they can be done on-site or at a medical laboratory.

Depending on the nature of the condition at hand relief care can be administered on the first visit if such care is warranted.

On the second visit or the Report of Finding visit, you will be given a report on what is the problem at hand and the causes of your condition(s).

Radiographs are explained and correlated with the results of your examination.  A treatment plan is often proposed in order to ensure that the program of care is successful and meets your personal health goals.
